Greetings from Essex, UK! Have been spending a lazy weekend here just slacking, reading and enjoying the nice English weather.
I miss Sweden and the wonderful people I met over there.
My Ikea-like hotel room.
The view from outside my hotel room.
The view everyday on the way to the train station.
The good ol' commuter train.
Nice blue sky in UK. Considering how rare that is, I feel very blessed.
Good ol' hearty English food at a
traditional English pub in the middle of nowhere. I feel like a PIG!
The Bec*khams' house in the countryside. My sis insisted that we have to stop so that i could jump out and take a picture of myself outside the house since we were driving past it. Despite my protestations that I am NOT a crazed fan (or even a fan for that matter), I was forced to do it anyways. I will not post pictures of myself because I look horrible but here's a picture of the house. The house is plastered with KEEP OUT signs.
Am off to London tmr. Though it's my 3rd time there, my sis has seen it fit to give me her Top 10 Tips for Commuting:
Tip No 1
Do not speak/make eye contact/smile at strangers on the tube/train/bus.
(But if people say Good Morning/Afternoon to you, please say Good Morning/Afternoon back)
Tip No 2
At any sign of disturbance (eg fight/loud argument/quarrel), look away or if possible, move quicky but discreetly away from the vicinity.
Tip No 3
When entering the train/tube, proceed smoothly and swiftly to a seat. It is important at all times to have a seat, esp on a very crowded train.
Tip No 4
Hold on to belongings tightly. Make sure that all bags are zipped up.
Tip No 5
On all underground tube, if the train driver says that there's a minor delay, GET OFF THE TRAIN!
Tip No 6
Always bring an umbrella in London. It always rains.
Tip No 7
Make sure you carry a bottle of water at all times.
(But do not drink too much water because there are no toliets at the tube stations)
Tip No 8
Do not stand near people with bulging jackets or flashing parcels.
Tip No 9
Always take a licensed black london cab.
Tip No 10
Hold on to your handphone tightly. No matter how cool it looks, do not hold your handphone using your head and ear to grip it while in the process of using your hands to do other things.
(She should know about this since someone walked up to her and grabbed her hp from her hahaha)
Off to London tomorrow. *waves bye*
