Random points and thoughts on the Manny Bull

*I don't wanna see Manny go. I like him and he's one of my favorite players.
*Despite the fact that I do not WANT him to go,I do think that it is in the best interest that he does go.
*Quiet on the trading front is Theospeak for either "Quiet on the trading front" or "We have a deal in place and just need to dot some i's and cross some t's"
*I think Manny's agent (Scott Boras, mind you) is playing a bigger role in this then is let on.
*The Red Sox are bad breaker-uppers with their superstars. It never ends well.
*Manny is hardly a malicious fellow but god is he frustrating to be a fan of
*I think both sides just want out...the only problem is finding something of value.
*Scott Boras can't see anything beyond the words "big payday" but despite this, he can be easily controlled with a player who has a gameplan on what they wanna do.
*I think the Mets will be involved one way or another. It'd be ideal if the Mets and Phillies both partook in a bid-off for Manny's services. Manny is only a rent-a-player for them so the main thing is the fact that not much of value may be given in return(however I do covet the shit out of Lou Marson, a catcher from the Phillies system)
*Manny needs to grow up or at least show some semblance of maturity.
*Peter Gammons says Manny doesn't care about winning. I don't wanna go that far, Gammo. I love ya and all, but dude -- we get it. You don't like Manny. You're losing all your rationality when you talk about him...which brings me to the next point
*Manny bashers and Manny lovers have no sense of rationality when it comes to the topic. Everything is too crazy and irrational. This is why I try to not talk about Manny too much. I can get on the irrational side.
*I think Manny is basically a good natured guy who means no harm but finds himself in trouble...though I think that the McCormick thing crossed the line. That was uncalled for. There's a quote that I think explains Manny pretty easily(though McCormick incident excluded) "Never attribute to malice what can be easily explained by stupidity". I'm not sure who said it, but it's basically the Mannytra for me.
*For the thousandth time, YOUKILIS STARTED THE WHOLE DUGOUT FIGHT BY THROWING SHIT AROUND. Stop attaching it to the McCormick incident please. Youk was throwing shit around, Manny told him to cut it out, Youk got all pissy at Manny and Manny shot back. I know that you Manny haters REALLY REALLY REALLY want it to be Manny's fault but the truth is it is only like 15% his fault. I mean he shouldn't have physically acted out, but Youk started it. Which is why I say "please separate the two. Manny started the McCormick one, but Youk started the dugout one"
*Last point before I go into pregamery -- I think that this trading deadline will be very interesting to follow, to say the least.

Anyways onto the pregamery. Red Sox and Angels face off for Game 2. All I ask is for a win. John Lackey, who has done pretty crummy at Fenway though I think he was decent his last time out, goes up against Clay Buchholz. This is like a rematch of Clay's MLB debut. May it work out the same way as Clay's debut. :P The Red Sox have been sucking and the Angels have been really really good. I'd like to see those roles reversed for tonight, and perhaps tomorrow too. Just win, dammit. Make me wish I HAD gotten tickets for tonight. I have a feeling I'm gonna be working on Trading Deadline Day....I'll have my cellular on hand that day should anything happen. Thank god it's an offday for the Red Sox though. All I hope is that if I do work(which is likely), it's from like 10-4 and not like 11-6 or some shit.

i love baseball, red sox, rumors, boredom, quotage, blehh, manny being manny, mlb, trading deadline blues, lollerskates, random, baseball, pregame
