Too tired to put so much work into this entry
I'm too tired and beat up from work to really put any really great pregame entry of epic proportions so I'll just link you and quote up some news things. All that we know tonight is Radhames Liz goes up against Tim Wakefield and hopefully they pull out the win. I'm tired and beat up and I really don't wanna go any further into it. So anyways without further ado, some links and a few snippets.
1) Manny talks jokingly about his cell phone capers. Manny joked he was calling Pizza Hut and apparently that wasn't even his phone. It was Alex Cora's....Manny Ramirez -- gotta love him. I wonder how many pairs of pants Manny has stolen from teammates. He does taht too.
2) David Ortiz and DMC of Run DMC?! Sign me up! Papi wants to do a rap. DMC wants to do one with him. This could be the most epic thing in the history of epic. I will not argue this.
3) And of course, life isn't complete without good old fashioned Pedroia Stories
Pedroia’s aw-shucks demeanor masks a cockiness that even rival players can’t help but find hilarious. Roberts has seen it up close the last couple of winters, repeating a story from 2006 about Pedroia challenging eventual first-round NFL draft pick Brady Quinn to a game of ping-pong.
“Brady was working out there, and he’s a pretty quiet guy,” Roberts said. “He didn’t really say a whole lot. He comes walking through and Pedroia turns around and says, ‘You want next?’ And Brady was like, ‘All right,’ and Pedroia says, ‘No you don’t, because I’ll put this ping-pong ball right off your throat.’
“Everyone was like, ‘Whoa.’ We all got to know Brady and Brady loved him, but that’s Pedroia - saying stuff you’d never think of saying to someone you’ve never met before who’s four times your size.”
Pedroia Stories are the best.
4) And to close it all up -- Lugo is put on the DL and Jed Lowrie has been called up.
