That gesture just really drilled it home

Hey boys and girls. Are you ready for tonight? I hope so and if you're not, you've gotta get your ass ready soon. It's Game 7, bitches. Time for all hands to be on deck. Oh and how many of you couldn't sleep last night? *raises hand* But when I actually did, I had a delightfully insane dream. It was basically involving me and JD Drew goofing off, the highlight being us dancing around to "The Safety Dance" like complete dorks. There was also some swimming where JD and I were like racing. And then I realized I was flirting with him and I wasn't sure why. I woke up kind of laughing about the whole "Safety Dance" thing. Oh and if you didn't love Pedroia and Lowell before, be prepared to love them lots. This is such a sweet gesture that was noted on the Boston Globe.

The diehards won the unwavering support of at least two players, third baseman Mike Lowell and second baseman Dustin Pedroia, who came out Friday night and fed the frenzy by bringing out some Mexican food from La Verdad.

"They're class acts," said Jon Mallows, a 35-year-old resort sales agent from Tyngsboro, about the players' gesture. "They came out here. They took a couple of pictures and they signed a couple of autographs just to say, 'Hey, we appreciate it.' I think that acknowledgement just shows what a class act they both are.

"They're good ballplayers and I respect them, but that gesture just really drilled it home for me."

I'm sorry that's wicked adorable and really sweet of a gesture from those guys. I wish I was there when they did that. However, despite that, I think I'd have the same exact reaction as this guy right here except 12 times more irrational and dopey.

Rob Slattery, 31 of Ware, was left speechless when he came face-to-face with Lowell.

"I stood there just frozen," said Slattery, who sampled some of the food the players brought. "Lowell looks bigger on TV than he really is. He's kind of thin in real life. I wanted to say something to him, but I just stood there frozen. You would think I would've said, 'Mike Lowell . . . great year . . . hope you can stay with us next year.' But I couldn't come up with anything."

That may have been the nicest thing I've read in a while. This is just such a great thing to see and kind of refreshing as well. I remember Fox talking about it too, and I guess Lowell's wife had suggested them to do something, and they decided to. That's great. Worthy of a happy face and those "WELL DONE" stickers you'd get on papers you got 100 in. Yeah...I'm kinda like not on a whole crapload of sleep right now. Forgive me for not making sense.

And so it's down to this. Game 7 at Fenway Park. Yet another do-or-die circumstance, however this time both teams are under the do-or-die circumstance. Matsuzaka goes tonight against Westbrook, another rematch of a past game. Matsuzaka is looking for a little revenge for his poor starts in the past two games. He wants to show Red Sox Nation that he's here and he can do this. Westbrook was good last time out, but that was then. Now is what makes baseball so great. Now is when the past doesn't factor into the decisions. Now is unknown and now can be whatever the hell you want it to be. I'm still at peace with whatever happens, but dammit I wanna win. I just wanna pick up a win and win this series. After that, everything is gravy for me. Even if I am at peace. The good thing about tonight is that EVERYBODY is available(except Schilling and Gagne...maybe Lopez) Otherwise, everybody but the starter and two of the weaker relievers are available. You guys ready? I'm ready but man is 8pm gonna take forever to get here. I dunno what to do to pass the time! And in closing, keep it positive folks.

i love baseball, red sox dreams, i love this team, newsage, w00ten, lollerskates, pregame, random, baseball, red sox, linkage, boredom, dreams, mlb, good times had by all, 07 alcs
