That was well needed
The Red Sox won 10-3 tonight and trust me: they needed this shit tonight. When the game started out, it seemed like another long night. JD Drew hit the ball a long way and it was a surefire homerun to everybody but the umpires. Tito was ripshit, to say the least. And naturally, with the way the Red Sox' luck had gone, Thome hits a three run shot and things just look godawfully sad. I flipped out, obviously, and just hurled a shitload of expletives. Beckett was pitching his ass off, even though he didn't have a whole lot in the tank.
And then something happened...Tek worked a walk, Hinske had a bunt single, Lugo turned a sac bunt into an infield single. And enter Coco Crisp, the much maligned and slumping center fielder, hits a three-run triple down the line and into right field. Suddenly, things were looking up. Then things looked bad again when Papi hurt his shoulder stupidly diving into second base(not the smartest move, bro). And Coco Crisp chips in again with another huge play, throwing out Pierzynski at second. And things are looking up.
But that's not all...the Red Sox soon get a grand slam from Julio Lugo, of all people. Yes. That same Julio Lugo. Unbelieveable, eh? Our much maligned players are starting to pick up the slack and kicking ass. Sometimes you just need that cuz the big boys aren't gonna carry them forever. Hell not even the guys who carried the first half can carry them forever.
And so they won the game tonight 10-3 which was really huge. Sure it should've been 13-3 but I'll take it. Huge win. It'd be nice to see them build from this though. A lot.
