Lunch with Matsuzaka and Okajima

Hands down the coolest blog ever, other than Touching All the Bases, has to be Bradford on Baseball. And this entry is exactly why. Just so...amusingly whimsical. It's whimsy straight up! :) Some highlights

As for what kinds of television Matsuzaka has been watching, he said the Golf Channel, MTV, and ESPN. He said he has also been able to pick up some English by watching various movies. Some of the flicks he has seen are "Lethal Weapon," "Cliffhanger," and "When Harry Met Sally." He also likes Jackie Chan movies. Okajima prefers love stories, such as "Ghost."

Okajima-san seems to enjoy teh chick flicks. But at least he admits it straight up. More power to ya, man

Neither is sure what music they will be introduced to, although Okajima has been American artist Sarah Brightman for his theme music in Japan

I betcha that someone is gonna put on "Tumbling Dice"-Rolling Stones for Daisuke. And....that is a very interesting choice there Okajima-san. Very interesting indeed. But we could have a split of either the most badassed entrance music and the most....bizarre entrance music if Okajima goes to Brightman and Pineiro does "Take My Breath Away" which I REALLY hope he does.

And the big LOL moment which almost turned into "DOOOOOMED!!1"

Before I get to the summary of a pretty enlightening 1 hour and 40 minutes, I have to relay a moment that almost entrenched itself in Red Sox lore. When asked if he had watched any of the Red Sox World Series run, Matsuzaka referenced the 2003 playoff brawl between the Sox and Yankees. When trying to demonstrate the act of Pedro Martinez pushing aside Don Zimmer the pitcher banged his right elbow on the solid wood table. Food intake stopped, and mouths opened in awe. But, alas, he was fine, leaving the incident in the narrow escape category of Boston baseball history.

I would've killed the fucker who asked that question if that was any worse. But yes, this seems very interesting and a lot of great fun. Seriously, folks. Read this blog, it is fucking awesomesauce! :D
