Wind flew against the broad landscape of trees and open fields. Our car drove through as the sky started to become a mass of tinted clouds threatening to poor down. The New England Autumn plan is sound. It's already down in the 50s here at night, and none too warm during the day. The sumacs by the lake are already scarlet.

YES. I'm a complete weather nut too...and it's one of the big reasons I eventually moved away from California. No real weather! I wanted hot summers, cold winters, and thunder and lightening and changing leaves in between. Now I've got 'em, and boy do I love 'em.

I really liked your description of the rain. :)

Wait until you see the leaves, too. When I first spent a fall back East, I remember saying "Well, I always read that leaves turned red, but I thought that meant sort of reddish. These are really red!"
