More Driving; chapter number 4 of the epic saga of doing nothing really worth mentioning

Jun 22, 2006 21:47

Yay, the day after tomorrow I am going to be in one of the coolest places in the world; Minneapolis. Oh yeah, I am writing about today. So let’s see, we started off the day at a breakfast restaurant at the hotel we were staying at. Technically most of the dishes had meat but luckily that was just because it had bacon or sausage so it was really easy to just substitute it. I in the end got French toast, two eggs and a hash brown (the hash brown is what I got instead of meat). Then we finished up and hit the road again.

We drove for quite awhile until we made our first stop. When we did stop Daddy bought something to cover his laptop from the sun and Mommy bought the soundtrack to Urinetown. Then we got back into the car. We continued to drive for a long time until about three when we decided it was time to get some lunch.

Mommy and Winter went to KFC and Daddy and I went to a nice sit down Pizza Hut. It was kind of weird because I am used to Pizza Huts being a counter with a kitchen behind it and barely any room to wait. Luckily it wasn’t too hard to find a good vegetarian pizza. Once we were done Winter and Mom met us out side and we were back on the road.

At about seven or something we stopped at a nice little town called Lexington. The only reason we are here is because Dad grew up in Lexington in Massachusetts so they thought it would be funny to stay in one in Nebraska. Don’t ask me, my parents are weird.

We first stopped at Walmart and got a few things to eat for Dinner as well as vitamins and cough drops for this very annoying sore throat that I have right now.

The hotel that we are staying at has a room with a bunk bed. Winter and I are going to sleep on the bunk beds (Winter on the bottom bunk and me on the top bunk). There is a microwave and a refrigerator in the main room. So it is pretty nice.

The hotel has a heated, indoor swimming pool so Winter insisted that we swim in it. I had a moderate amount of fun in the pool but decided to leave early. Now I am sitting and bloging, obviously.

Also we just changed time zones again so we are 2 hours different from the Californians.

Another thing that kind of freaked me out was that there was a bookstore that was selling a shirt that said JESUS and had a flag in the background. Then when we were coming back from buying stuff at Walmart, I saw a car that had a fake license plate in the window that read in big letters “JESUS” and then under it, it said “[Jesus] loves you, this never expires.” Then on the same car there was a bumper sticker that said, “team god wins, all other teams lose.” I found them both kind of funny and a bit creepy.

Sorry for the short entrée, nothing really cool happened today.
