Cups of all shapes and sizes
Some things I consider to be common sense, even for a man. A 50 year old man to be exact. While I was in New York, I gave my uncle a recipe for stew which involved adding a cup of chicken stock.
Today I get a phone call asking for a bit of clarification.
Uncle: Your directions are a bit confusing, there are big cups and there are small cups.
Me: *facepalm* A measuring cup, not any old cup...
Uncle: Oh... right. Well there are still different sized cups...
Me: Remember it's a standard unit. Big or small, only the line moves...
Ok, so I guess if you don't cook or bake much, you wouldn't know. Right? Actually no, I think anyone with 50 years of life experience should be able to realize the recipe refers to a measuring cup.

And since it's July 4th, my neighbors are setting off loud fire crackers so I'm going to have a lot of fun trying to sleep early. :(
