My Confession

Jan 03, 2017 14:40

I feel like blogging now~
There is this thing I must confess. lol.
As you can read in the subject, I'm gonna confess that I really really love Monsta X!!

Monsta X is a korean boy group of 7 members in case you don't know. Lol.
And it makes them the first kpop group that captured my heart.
I didn't know much about kpop, but I know a bit of kpop somehow.
My surroundings aka friends love kpop so it's just natural to know a bit about kpop.
Before drowning myself deeper into kpop, I only know big groups like Shinee, Bigbang, DBSK, EXO, you name it.
They are cool, yeah of course, I enjoy their songs, but don't love them.

[How I found Monsta X]I didn't know when it started to happen but my surrounding (including family) became even more korean-ish. Lmao.
Like Mystic Messenger game, I played that and I really enjoy the calling feature.
Who doesn't like it when cute (imaginary) boys call you just to ask "did you eat?" Lol
That game was one thing, then I found my sis and bro watching Produce 101 when I came home.
That is a competition show whose winners will debut as an idol girl group.
They got really attached to Produce 101, seriously, like they talked about it all the time.
I ended up watching that show too. Lol.
That was not the only show we watch, there was other show like Hit the Stage etc.
Since then, our TV at home play korean channel most of the time.
So, in a short amount of time, my house was koreanified. Lmao.

OH I know! We started watching korean channel since we no longer subscribe to movies channels, like Fox movies, HBO, etc.
Lmao. The promo has ended and they raised the price so we just stopped. It's not Game of Thrones season anyway. Haha.
So that means the koreanification has started earlier last year, like May or June? Idk. Lol

As a part of koreanification in my house, I discovered a group named Monsta X in October.
Out of my sister's recommendation, I started with 'Hero' MV and I was like, ok this is interesting, I might check the others out too.
So I ended up watching their other music videos and later found that they debuted from a some kind of idol survival show, just like Produce 101, but this was smaller in scale. Their show's title was No Mercy.
The title sounds intimidating imo, but that was indeed a cruel show. Haha.
The whole show is uploaded officially in youtube, so it was easy to find.
That was when I started to feel a connection to them.
Like, you can't ignore someone who works hard toward their dream, right?
They worked really hard to debut and that really moved me!
To see them sweating and crying through the show really touched my heart.
I'm so glad that they finally debuted OMG! T-T

Along with No Mercy, I also watch their variety shows in between.
And they turned out to be dorky and funny af. Hahaha.
Who wouldn't like dorky guys? And don't forget they are also talented af.
Monsta X is a whole package! They sing very well, dance perfectly, and are hillarious, what else do you need?
I really like their songs too, they are so intense and give me more energy to start the day.
If you hear about an idol group from their fans pov, everything must sound the same.
Everyone can talk the same about their idol just like I talked about Monsta X earlier.
But there really is so much in them that charmed me, even words can't describe it close enough.

They are very humble and love their fans so much!
It always makes me tear up a bit everytime they say Monbebe, their fandom name.
Wait, doesn't Monbebe sound cute? Lol. It sounds very cute to me xD
They seriously love their fans so much that sometimes it makes me feel bad.
They always say that Monbebe gives them so much love and they're sorry that they can't give enough to return that love.
And I'm here being like, what? It should be us who thank you so much for everything you do, for always working hard to deliver good songs with strong dances, for making us proud with your performance, for thinking about your fans in many things you do.
They get mistreated quite a lot in the industry and I'm really sorry for them.
Their choreography once got stolen by a TV channel, so the TV didn't broadcast their performance but 'give' their choreo to another group instead. Here is an article for better understanding.

It breaks my heart a little when I heard that they are actually not really popular in South Korea.
I thought they are quite big, considering their performances (seriously, it's that cool for me), but Idk the real truth tho.
They never won a #1 in music shows which I guess it's quite a big deal in kpop industry.
But they just debuted in 2015 and are considerably new, so I guess it's natural if they haven't won yet? Idk.
This kpop world is somewhat a new thing for me so I'm still learning (but I guess I learn pretty fast. lol)
Their rapper, Jooheon, even mentioned that they will surely present Monbebe with their first win this year T-T
I thought it's not that important to win #1, but then I think it might be important for them to gain their confidence and as a prove that they did well.
If anything, I hope they get their first win soon, but what really important to me is they'll be a long lasting group and continue light up my life with their music and existence T-T
I'm so grateful that I get the chance to know them in 2016, during their single 'Fighter' promotion.
It's been quite a while since I'm feeling this alive. Sounds so exaggerating but it's actually not. Lmao.
The last time was probably when I discovered Generations back in 2014. Haha.

Whoever you are, if you read this and don't know Monsta X, please check them out!
I'm not sure which video should I show you to recognize their talent, but I guess I'll go with this which was my first too.

Well, I'm actually not sure whether someone is really reading this, not to mention till the end.
But if there is, I thank you so much!
So, my confession ends here.
Please watch Monsta X and give some love!
