So in spite of the positively balmy (but rainy) weather today, I went out looking for snow-compatible footwear. Through experience, I have learned that Vans slip-ons (or actually, their dressier equivalents) do not do much to keep feet warm when trudging through frozen water flakes. Today we've got snow that's actually not melting, but staying put as downy white stuff on the tops of bushes, cars, and the houses across the street. I feel like I'm in an overgrown food court doing holiday shopping - the snow doesn't seem real looking out of my window, since it's warm in here. I'll post pictures somewhere soon enough....
