Back to back to back
Except I think back to back to back district champs is more impressive than the cross country team's old back to back to back conference champs.
So. I'll go through good things that have happened the past few days.
Girls are going to states.
I don't want to talk about all the other stupid stupid bullshit that's happened that's no joke ruined me for the past few days.
Fast forward to tonight. Sarah and I arrive for the Gardens vs Jupiter game. On the line- homefield advantage in the first round of the playoffs for Gardens, and a berth for the Warriors. We go sit by Brooke and Kelly Kostelnik, since those are the only ones there we know yet.
Eventually, the game gets underway. Collin arrives as the kickoff happens.
He abandons Steve Shock and I to be with Sarah. Understandable, I guess. The game gets underway when Jupiter drives the field to score on their first possession.
Gardens has a chance to answer with their second drive of the night. However, the clock is running out on third down and the team's forced to spike the ball. Ross Gronall misses what everyone thought was a good kick.
Halftime arrives, and it's 7-0. After that, things that a turn for the better. Gardens scores. Ross makes the extra point. Everyone's going apeshit. It's 7-7. Late in the game, and on a third down near the Jupiter goal, the QB gets flushed. We think he's going down. Then he runs in for a touchdown. Gardens up.
The game ended with a goal-line stand. It reminded me of freshman year. The same players. The same situation. Jupiter was stopped. Gardens won 14-7. Bravo.
