It takes a year for Sakurai Sho to finally be able to forget his late lover, Aiba Masaki. It takes another year for him to finally open up to Ohno Satoshi, his childhood friend and also his senior.

Satoshi is a loving and calm boyfriend, Sho thinks. Satoshi is as carefree and so much of an airhead just like Masaki, but Satoshi is way more serious than Masaki. Not that Sho is going to complain about it, or compare him to Masaki, not at all. Sho loves Satoshi almost as much as he loved Masaki.

And here he is now, flipping through the pages of a thick book that Satoshi treasures. It is filled with moments and memories, messy handwritings and amazing pictures, it is full of Satoshi and Sho. It’s a book about them, just the two of them, some things Sho doesn’t aware of…

Gods are cruel.

It’s just a day after Sho-chan’s birthday… and his beloved Aiba-kun passed away. Damn that drunken truck driver who killed Aiba-kun. Damn those stupid medical teams who came too late. They stole Sho-chan’s happiness.

Feb 24, 2012
Sho-chan you stupid. Satoshi you idiot.

I will remember this day. I swear I will always be there for Sho-chan. Please, don’t ever think of suicide again, Sho-chan…

Feb 27, 2012
Sho-chan, okaeri.

He’s discharged from the hospital. He’s gotten much better, physically and mentally. Thanks, Ninomiya-kun. Glad you’re majoring in Psychology.

April 15, 2012
No. Not again.

It’s my fault. It’s all my fault for going fishing when I promised him to eat dinner together at Jun-kun’s restaurant. I’m sorry for forgetting the promise, Sho-chan, please get well soon…

April 16, 2012
Sho-chan’s talking in his sleep.

He’s still missing Aiba-kun... A lot. Aiba-kun, I hope you can hear him. Please, meet him in his dreams, embrace him and please, Aiba-kun, tell him to be strong because my voice alone can’t reach him. He’s only thinking about you. Please, Aiba-kun, can’t you see those scars on his wrists…?

April 17, 2012.
Aiba-kun heard me?

The doctor said that Sho-chan’s condition is quite good. I took him for a stroll around the hospital garden. Sho-chan looked at me and smiled.

“I had a dream about Masaki, Oh-chan.”

Then he said he would learn to forget about Aiba-kun, and live strongly.

Aiba-kun, thank you.

Rebirth

Sho-chan came to my house. To celebrate, he said. He would like to start his life over. He chose this day because he’s thankful of me. 3104. Sa-to-shi.

Only as a token of thanks.

But I’m glad.

May 04, 2012
Til we meet again, Sho-chan.

Student exchange in Germany? See you, Sho-chan.

--

Sho smiles and mutters a silent thank you. He keeps flipping through the pages. The rest of the pages have no writings about him, but they have some pictures and doodles Sho recognizes as the moments they have spent together: Sho’s crying face, Sho’s hand resting on Aiba’s gravestone, Sho’s sleeping face on the hospital bed, Sho’s bandaged wrist, Sho’s back when he was cooking for the celebration, Sho’s munching face…

And on one of the pages, a picture of Sho-the most beautiful and neat picture among the other pictures and doodles-smiling brightly. On the bottom right corner he can read it: I miss you, Sho-chan. Go back to Japan quickly, or at least contact me, will you.

He sniffles and keeps flipping, and there it is, the pages of their relationship. He takes a deep breath before he starts reading…

Jan 25, 2013
Happy birthday, Sho-chan.

Jan 26, 2013
Aiba-kun, genki~? It’s been a year.

April 31, 2013
Happy birthday again, Sho-chan.

November 26, 2013
He remembers!

Sho-chan contacted me! He said happy birthday :D
And we chatted for hours. Hours!
I can sleep well tonight, hahaha!

February 01, 2014
Ohh yes.

Sho-chan said he will come back to Japan next week. Yes.

February 20, 2014
I can’t believe this.

I said it. I confessed.
And he said yes.

February 22, 2014
First date!

Sho-chan looked so happy.
Second date decided. We’ll go to his apartment for a domestic date, heehee.

Mar 03, 2014
Husband-and-wife

Domestic date is unexpectedly a fantastic idea. Married life looks interesting. His cooking tastes awful but I don’t care.

Mar 04, 2014
First.

I don’t remember how we ended up cuddling on his bed, but then I thought it was the greatest time of my life so far.

And it’s funny how Sho-chan, who is much bigger than me, fell completely powerless at my simple touch.

Sho-chan you’re just… hot. The best. Sexiest man on earth. Don’t blame me if I want more. Haha! I know you’re enjoying it too.

Mar 11, 2014
Damn.

Sho-chan took over my position. Damn it. Well, I’m not complaining, though.

April 1, 2014
Sho-chan…

He had a dream about Aiba-kun again. He cried a bit. I understand.
Sho-chan, you can get over it. Be strong, okay?

April 3, 2014
Watch.

Sho-chan bought me a watch. The same watch as his. I don’t wear watch often but yay!

April 10, 2014
First domestic fight. Ouch. OUCH.

He asked me to sleep on the couch. He’s angry because I went fishing a whole day and he couldn’t contact me at all.

Dammit. My butt hurts. He kicked me with all his might. Is this the power of jealousy?

April 12, 2014
Spoiled.

Sho-chan is weird. He kept clinging to me all day, like he was afraid of something. Well I did tell him I’m going for my first fishing tournament tomorrow morning but, hey, Sho-chan, what’s wrong, seriously?

--

Sho bites his lips and with his trembling hand, flips to the next pages, hoping to find another entry.

Empty.

Desperately, he flips faster through the empty pages, and his hand stops on the second to last page. There is Satoshi’s handwriting, artistic and beautiful, framed with forest-themed illustrations drawn by none other than Satoshi himself, he recognizes.

END OF YEAR! To 2015! REMEMBER!!
Jan 25: Sho-chan’s birthday.

--

“Stupid…” Sho mumbles, trying to bite back his tears. “Satoshi…”

A drop of tears falls on the paper and he brings the notebook close to his chest, crying his lungs out. Hands still trembling, he reaches for his phone and opens his organizer, trying to recall the events he has written on the organizer…

There is nothing but study and work-related things, and a reminder for Masaki’s birthday and death anniversary. He feels the pang on his chest imagining the amount of heartache Satoshi will feel if he ever read his organizer. It’s not that he doesn’t love Satoshi, he does. He really does, but the love is not yet enough to make him able to record everything into his organizer despite how organized of a person he is. Frustrated, he throws his phone on the floor and breaks down.

“Sho-chan…”

He raises his head slowly at the gentle touch on his shoulder and forces a smile. He nods and stands up, putting Satoshi’s “diary” back on the table.

“Are you okay…? Why are you reading that, seriously. I’ve told you, you shouldn’t. That’s not even yours.”

Sho nods and laughs bitterly while picking up his phone from where he threw it. “You’re right. Sorry.”

“Are you ready? It’s time.”

He nods and tidies his black suit up. “Sure. Let’s go, Nino.”

Ninomiya smiles and pats his back, escorting him out of the room which once was his and Satoshi’s. He can’t help but looking back several times, even as they reach the parking lot. He stares at the 25th floor, biting his lips as he clenches his hands. He has no memories of Satoshi in his organizer. And when he does, it’s only on April the 13th.

Which is today.

Which is Satoshi’s funeral.

He cries as he follows Nino into the car that will bring them to see Satoshi one last time.

A/N: HISASHIBURII!!! *_*

Well, we’re back. Zerochan was busy these past six months, so we’re sorry for the inactivity. *sighs* But now we’re back, tadaima!

First I would like to thank whoever nominated us for the Arashi Fanfic Awards. Thank you very much!! It was surprising, thinking that both of us are relatively new to the fanfic world, but somehow there is someone (or more than one?) nominated us for such award. It’s an honor, really, and we’re happy. Thank you for your supports until now. Zero and I will try our best too from now on, giving you the best of fics we can think of! We love you, fellow Arashians! ^^
