Sandy was a family member. She was a great dog with a love of life. She picked up tricks quickly, and knew shake, lay down, roll over, play dead, and would even fetch the newspaper from the end of the driveway (until she noticed that there were birds in the front yard).

She was so good about obeying the 'stay' command that we could use it while we got her food ready. One day Robin told her to stay while she put food in her bowl. A little while later she heard Sandy whining. Robin looked down and saw that Sandy hadn't moved... Robin had forgotten to give her the "okay"!

As a pup, Sandy was always fascinated with light reflections, and would bark and chase them around the house... even when they were coming off her dog tags. This was troublesome if you needed to use a flashlight for anything. But it also proved useful when directing her to go into her house.

Sandy was great with the kids, and watched them grow up... starting as mere curiosities to big people who can give her loving (and food!). She truly was a part of the family, and we miss her.
