Wide open spaces

I am finding that if I try to focus on all the issues that need to be resolved, I quickly begin to feel overwhelmed, and progress grinds to a halt.

If instead, I manage to focus on each task, one at a time, I find them much more manageable, and can make great progress. It reminds me of the story about the king who challenged each of his daughter's potential suitors to attempt to break a bundle of arrows with their bare hands. Each tried and failed because the bundle was too thick. But then came the weakest man who realized that the only way to break the arrows was one by one. So the king had him beheaded for being a smart alec.
