Pilot's weekdays: Happy birthday

Sep 12, 2015 17:07

Hello world.
What does a newbie pilot wish on his birthday? Definitely to get a job!!!
Since my last publication I've flew to the company's base, had a ground school, a couple training flights and a checkride. My first flight I flew a traffic pattern and frankly speaking did it awful. Maybe because of 7 months long discontinuity in flights, maybe cause I've never flew on the co-pilot side, but maybe I'm simply a klutz. So anyway, on the first circle I've lost everything, speed, heading, altitude and so on so forth. It was as awkwardly as my first flight ever. Second approach I got more comfortable with it and landed almost without my captn help. The third time was a full stop landing, and I got an endorsement for the line training.
To say I was happy is, to say nothing. I was so exited!!! It was a feeling like feel a child  when he finally got his Nintendo on the Christmas. It was a feeling like feel student pilot when he's done his first solo flight.
Day after that there were my first flights as a first officer under the supervision. It was a bit hard for me. Everything was different. Here in Russia, we still use meters and kilometers per hour, but all gages in my aircraft show feets and knots, and also a couple new things for me after flying in the US were QFE and different transition level/hight for each airport. But, pardon, you'd tell me. You can request QNH, speed in knots and all hights in feets from ATC. Technically yes, but our captains are old school guys and they used to fly on soviet aircrafts. They don't want to change anything. I'm happened to get use to . Anyway, back to track. My line training took about 25 flight hours and 6 hours long was a checkride.
During this hours I've took 2 poor infants to the hospital for special treatment. I've tranported 200 grams of rare blood, 230 miles far, for a woman who had a problem during baby delivery, I had a man with chest ache on board and gave a ride for some officials for his duties. I've had a lot of fun. I've got a bunch of good tips from my captns and still want more and more. I've had challenging approaches. I've finally done step three in my long way to become a pilot.
To sum my pink weeping story up. Yesterday, on my day of birth, when I had all required endorsements, I got my first contact as a pilot signed up. Yeah! I can fly as regular pilot.
Thanx for everyone who support me, who taught me, who helped me. Keep going. Stay tuned!.
