I Think I Reside in the Kingdom of Shy
I took a day off from blogging for my birthday because it wasn't very eventful this year. I spent most of the day napping, getting mad at a local tv station (they have been having technical problems since late November), and watching post season football.
Then I was thinking about songs that are about the shadow self. There are a few I like, but this one came to mind in particular. When was the last time I wrote about a Rockapella song? *reads blog* Oh yeah my last post. Anyway I really like the song "Kingdom of Shy". When I heard it for the first time I felt it was written about me or something. Sean Altman who co-wrote the song with Elliott Kerman has a nice little antedote about how they wrote and arranged it. The lyrics are also on Sean's website. I like this one person's take on it in an Amazon review for "Vocobeat"; "the anthem for timid folk everywhere". I perfer the version off the "Primer" album.
