BLISS.
I know I've said it last year, but this year's 21st really takes the cake. I am, I really am, THE happiest and most loved girl in the world. At least to me I am, hah!
After spending yesterday with darling and getting my lovely Cora from him (which I use to snap everything and anything now), and also after getting a bday card all the way from Aussieland from Charlene dear, today was totally not expected. I thought it was gonna be just a birthday lunch with my family at IMM and then its back to hall for mugging. Its been an hour plus since I got back to hall and I havent had the time to do anything until now!
Here goes. (Honestly I don't even know where to start.)
This morning we got up early to have sweet noodles. I wonder if anyone else eats them for their birthdays but basically at our home, when its anyone's birthday, we'll all eat sweet noodles for breakfast. According to daddy, its a teochew traditional food, akin to the Meesua of the Cantonese. Its like wanton noodles cooked in a sweet syrupy syrup (I sound so dumb saying that), and the syrup has dry orange peel taste in it. Each bowl is served with a hard boiled egg as well. No pictures of that though. Maybe next time?
Then we all watched tv fer awhile before we had the cake cutting session. Yup at our house, Mummy bakes a cake for everyone one everyone's birthday. You even get to choose what flavour you want! So this year, my birthday cake was Mango Cheesecake with an oreo base! (: Haha lovely.
So after cake cutting, it was presents time! Honestly I didnt expect anything because seriously its just another birthday to me. But Daddy and Mummy are the sweetest. Daddy bought me a diamond bracelet and Mummy bought me a diamond solitaire ring from Taka Jewelry. I was honestly shocked. Through my squealing,shrieking and semi hopping, I managed to give them all a hug and a kiss to thank them (: And everyone kissed me back in return to wish me a happy birthday. I felt like I was back in secondary/primary school, like I was the princess of the house. HAHA.
Then my brothers immediately asked me to pose with the bracelet and ring and even started blowing the fan in my hair to recreate some shitass endorsement feeling to it. Hilarious and I think I looked like a retard. I shall NOT post pictures of closeups of the ring and bracelet on my hand because everyone laughs at my hairy arms and fingers. STOP IT lah! They pretended they were praising Cora "WAHHH your camera very good leh, can see all the hair and all, damn ugly lah." and they just indirectly shoot me. -___- Thanks ah.
I can't help that I'm hairy okay. Mummy said its in her genes as well!

(: OMG it was another story of what happened during the fish and co thing. I'm not even going to post up the video Shaun took because its an embarrassment! The guy at Fish and Co came up to our table and asked if there was a special occasion and my brother enthusiastically told him its my birthday. He then shook my hand and wished me a happy birthday, to which I responded: "Thank you very much! But we can skip the birthday song and the fish and co rap ok?"
I had previously seen Yogs kena before and I didnt think I wanted that to happen to me. But my brothers again enthusiastically agreed. And with a wink, the guy said no problem, and went away. -___- He came back awhile later and said: "I have a deal for you. If Miss Charmain over here will be cooperative, we'll give you a 10% discount off the bill and also throw in a special gift!"
Very clever.
10% leh!! Of course I wouldnt have missed it for the world lah. I mean, its jsut making a fool outta myself, which I do pretty well. So. He brought out a chair, and made me stand on the chair with a foolish looking Fish and Co hat. Handed me a sparkler, and lit it. Then, the whole restaurant burst into the happy birthday song with me standing on that chair, not knowing if I should dance along or what. And ended up smiling and waving like some idiot. There was a Fish and Co rap too. Those who've spent their birthdays there would know what I'm talking about. It didnt help that the IMM Fish and Co was facing the main shopping area so the people walking outside could happily look at this giant standing on a tiny rattan chair and looking awfully outta place.
It was all in good fun anyway. And, for the "special gifts", I got a cute doorstopper, a fish and co postit pad and a postcard with a polaroid of my family attached to it with well wishes from all the people at Fish and Co. Thank you! Lunch was yummy, as usual. And we were all stuffed by the time we finished.
The last picture is that of my burnt out sparkler. It looks like some pocky chunky choc thing you can find. Just that its a little too black. The meal was korkor's treat! (: Thank you korrr!!
Okay here comes the best part.
After we finished eating and getting some basic groceries, it was time to head back to hall. Lugging all my stuff and detergent/juices/milk/cereals/tissueboxes etc, the last thing I expected was to get the shock of my life when I opened my room door. I was showing my parents how we'd trained Eppie to sit-on-pointing. (sidetrack: yep! eppie really sits when he's pointed at now! especially when he's hungry he'll do anything lah, basically.) Okay. that was when shaunie asked me to open my door and bring my things in.
The moment I did, I saw this:

All this while I was still pretty calm, and wondering which sweetie did this surprise for me. I was wondering who had access to my room and was thinking maybe yogs? Maybe yimin? Maybe.... Then I realised I should check around for a note of some sort. But there was none to be found. So I thought, it might just be on my desktop. And so I turned my monitor on. And I saw this.
Basically, my desktop usually does NOT look like that. And when I saw a collage there, I just exclaimed, "SEE. I knew there'd be something there!" I first noticed the photos in the collage of my wallpaper. Which is REALLY damn ugly. Its like the top 20 ugly photos of yours truly. Then I read the text which said,

I was stunned for a moment, shocked for the next. And then I screamed and ran into shaun's arms. HAHA. Then the next thing I knew, I was crying like a dog.
Yes. I know this happened last year when Yogs and May came over early in the morning at 8am and sang "I'm Yours" and "I just called to say I love you" on the guitar even though there was a test at 8.30am. They even changed the lyrics and I was so touched I just bawled with my laundry basket and detergent in my hands.
This year, it had to happen again! And my whole family was just standing there and laughing at me lor. Sickening. Apparently Paul knew about it lah and no one told me anything!! I was just so surprised and touched beyond words, so I just cried. HAHA. I never expected him to do something like that lah! I mean, he's my stinky brother and we're very close and loving but I never expected him to purposely stay back in hall for a night just to blow up balloons and hand them on my light!
(On a sidenote, Yimin said he was very poor thing cos throughout the night she could hear ballooons bursting and because she was scared of balloons she didnt offer to help him. She just popped by from time to time to see if he was ok. And he complained his mouth very tired.)

Then, as I thought it was all over, shaun kept bugging me about a piece of black cloth that was hanging outta my cupboard. It was my fbt shorts or something. So I was like curious why he asked me twice about it. And even ask me to PLEASE keep my clothes properly, looks like underwear is flowing outta my cupboard. So I was like okay okay. And I went to open my cupboard to keep the shorts properly when:
Okay stop looking at my cupboard I know its damn messy and there's my underwear and all. Look at the balloons! Yes. Like fifteen heart-shaped balloons fell outta my cupboard!! I screamed AGAIN. And all he could manage was to laugh at me again. Apparenly Wanling helped him with it because it was a damn difficult task to squeeze all of the balloons in without them dropping out at the same time. Thanks dude... HAHA now I have like 15 heart shaped balloons and like ten long snake-like balloons lying around my room and dancing around because of the fan speed. hahaha I look like I just threw a birthday party in my hall room.
And everyone who walks past my room now will know its my birthday. HAHA.

Then later my roomie came into the room with a handful of presents! Its from team se7en guys and girls volleyball team. The sweeties! (: I was damn happy lah. its basically two very pretty tops and a denim skirt from espirit, and also a bottle of perfume! Thank you Se7ens!
Yummy. Yimin also asked me to stay up till 2am today. I don't know what she has up her sleeves HAHA. (: There's gonna be a mini party in hall tomorrow with the se7en people. And its all planned by yimin lah. I don't know how to thank her enough. Will probably have more updates tomorrow! (:
Okay, that pretty much sums up my day today, which was awesome in a word. I've been blogging since like, 6 plus just now, and its already 9 plus! Now I understand how people like Xiaxue spend hours uploading photos and blogging and all. Super tiring can. You guys better leave more comments hor.
