“‘m sorry your Christmas gift sucked,” Sam mumbled to Artie. “Everything was really expensive…”
“Hey, Sam,” Artie interrupted softly, reaching out to put his hand on Sam’s arm but catching himself at the list minute. He dropped his hand into his lap and continued, “I don’t care what you get me, all that matters is that you came back! That’s a way better present than something from the store.”
“But you got me this awesome Jurassic Park series Blu-Ray pack with all these special features and it’s limited edition and I know it had to have costed way more than you should spend on me-“
“I wanted to get it for you. I was absolutely appalled when you said you’d never seen any of them. Besides, it’s half for me too, because we’re going to watch them together,” Artie said. Sam cracked a smile and Artie laughed. “You’re my best friend, okay? And all this time that you’ve been gone has sucked so bad! Now that you’re back everything is right again, and that’s seriously all I need for Christmas. And for my parents to stop trying to add me on Facebook.”
Sam snorted. His eyes locked with Artie’s and he saw the sincerity in them, making him smile. “Thanks, Artie. You’re the best friend I’ve ever had.”
“Yeah, yeah,” Artie waved his hand in the air dismissively. “Now put the movie in.”
