It’s not often the cast gets time like this, where they can chill out and not worry about scenes or songs or lines or fans or media. After a long day filming at some hotel, Chord enters a room and flops unceremoniously onto the bed. His eyes are closed before he lands and he’s positive he could’ve fallen asleep in minutes, but he hears footsteps entering the room.
“Hey.” It’s Chris. Chord knows it before he opens his eyes, because who could confuse that voice for anyone else? But his eyes are open now, and he gestures to the space on the bed next to him so that Chris can stop standing in the middle of the room being socially awkward (even though Chord can’t help but think it’s adorable).
Chris sits on the very edge of the bed and Chord almost rolls his eyes but then he remembers the homophobic jerks Chris has dealt with all his life and suddenly he wants to do nothing more than pull Chris in his arms and never let go.
“You can lie down, or whatever,” Chord says awkwardly. He mentally slaps himself. He pretty much feels like he just propositioned the innocent Chris Colfer. He has literally asked him to get in bed with him. There have never been more feet in his mouth than at this moment.
But then Chris slowly moves his body down the comforter, until his head is even with Chord’s. There is (far too much) space between them from the angle Chris is pointed in, but Chord can literally feel the heat coming from his body. He folds his arms behind his head and breathes in deeply. His eyes close and he simply thinks, I am lying next to Chris.
His heart is suddenly beating a lot faster and his hands are suddenly a lot sweatier than they were before Chris entered the room.
It’s similar to the way Chord’s life is brighter and his days are better than they were before Chris entered his world.
Chord’s reverie is cut short when Chris shifts a little. Chord can’t stop the small gasp that escapes his lips when he feels Chris’ hair, the very top of his head, resting against his arm. And then Chris is bringing his hand up and it’s so close to Chord’s elbow he can feel it. Chord closes his eyes again because he can’t think straight with Chris this close to him.
He idly wonders what he’s going to do when Kurt and Sam have kissing scenes, because just the one where Kurt had his hand on Sam’s arm outside the hotel was hard enough.
But then Chord is thinking about kissing Chris and he knows he shouldn’t because Chris is right there but the image is there. He imagines Chris would be the perfect kisser- not too rough, but not too gentle either. He thinks Chris would probably be the type to pull his lips back a fraction of an inch to whisper something in a breathy voice and then he’s thinking of all the things Chris would say.
Chord finds himself lying in a bed with Chris Colfer, half hard and trying his best to not let his thoughts show on his face. He’s terrified his brain won’t stop and neither will his reactions and the last thing he wants is for Chris to notice the state he’s in. He’s debating on going into the bathroom, maybe even taking a shower (which only leads to thoughts of Chris, naked and dripping wet, in the shower with him) when he hears a creak in the hallways.
The door opens, and Chord has never been happier to see Mark in his life.
