I was feeling a bit down this morning - I think looking at everyones facebook pictures and reading people's ljs I just really really wanted to be somewhere else doing something *fun* instead of stuck here. I have seen a few people, I had a great night on monday with Lizzy, Nick and Jon and I've had some good weekends here and there over the last ( Read more... )

*hugs* That is one of the things that really annoys me about facebook - I almost left it last summer when I wasn't well because it was getting me down! I just avoided it instead... People only put up their photos when they're doing cool fun stuff, and noone does when they're just doing regular things. Then when you look at the wall and all you see are the fun pictures, it just feels like that's what everyone's doing! *le sigh* I'm feeling a bit down today - just having trouble sorting out my classes and stupid things like not being able to pay by card for my health insurance and I don't know what else to do, it's just stressing me out. *hugs*

Aww no, no stress! Stress bad!

Thats so stupid about the health insurance - how on earth do they want you to pay it then? Put a massive wad of cash in an envelope??

Hope the classes get sorted out ok too, is it signing up for more ones that's the problem, or what you've got at the moment? *hugs to you* it will all work out m'dear, it just sucks a bit atm. After all, they're not exactly *not* going to let you take classes, or *not* pay your health insurance, are they? Cos that would be super mean.

I'm with you on the facebook thing, if it wasn't for the monster number of scrabble ganes ive got going at the moment I would be avoiding it!

But we must be strong and awesome, and not let the Man (or anyone else) get us down! It's a pact, k? xxxxx

Yep, pretty much! $800 dollars from an ATM that only gave out 20s...

Now see, when I watched Buffy, and Dawson's Creek, and other such teenage dramas which completely shaped my view of America, I always thought 'Now that can't be right. What sort of idiot leaves a ladder up against their window/leaves their door unlocked at night on a Hellmouth etc without expecting to be raped, robbed and murdered?' But apparently some Americans really are as unsafety conscious as they are portrayed?! Seriously $800 in 20 dollar bills?? That's ridiculous! And doesn't the ATM have a max limit on how much you can take out? Cos it must be a real problem if everyone takes out their money to pay their insurance on the same day!

Ps You got a reciept right? Cos I guess if you pay in cash there's no way to track it if they say 'um sorry, we never got your payment...' /motherly nagging mode xxx

I did get a receipt, never fear! But it really was a large wad of cash. :S I think most the US students just paid by cheque, but my US bank account isn't fully open yet so I couldn't do that! Hopefully can for next semester! xxx

Excellent ;) That really is silly. I saw an advert the other day for an HSBC bank account that you can set up here nad then they'll transfer in over if you're moving to another country and set it all up before you get there, which is, y'know, a bit late for you, but if you ever move country again, useful!
