Ned was never the sort of person to confess to needing someone as much as he did Chuck, and he certainly could go for some time without her by his side. He never begrudged her having friends or hobbies - that would, simply, be a stupid thing to do - and he was actually quite fond of her ability to befriend any and everyone she came across.
All of that aside, Ned would admit he didn't sleep as well when she wasn't there.
Digby had jumped onto the bed with Ned sometime during the night and that helped a bit, but he wasn't hard to wake when the sounds of Chuck coming home filtered in through his sleep. He watched her sleepily for a few moments, wondering if he would ever tire of her, and realized the answer had been no since he was nine years old.
"Did you have fun?"
