I don't usually make my posts public, but I have been waging a battle to quit smoking for some time and recently have had some success that I thought I would share.
I was watching an old episode of "Friends" where Joey was talking about how he had to put "The Shining" in the freezer because it was so scary. It occurred to me that since cigarettes are evil, the same idea might help me in my figt to quit. So, I've been keeping my pack of cigarettes in the freezer. I'm still smoking, but I've cut back significantly. I never remove the pack from the freezer, and I only take one at a time. This works mostly because I don't have the pack sitting there within easy reach; I have to get up and go to the kitchen every time I want one. It also means they never leave the house.
So far I've managed to cut my nearly a pack a day habit back to 4-5 cigarettes a day, sometimes less if I'm away from home for most of the day. So, yea me! With a little luck I should be able to quit entirely before much longer.
