Fic Prompts
The plot bunnies seem to be thicker than usual recently and I can't work on all of them, so I thought I'd share some of them in the hope that they inspire one of the rest of you. They represent multiple different fandoms and some cross over pairings. Please credit and let me know if you end up using any of these.
The Devil Wears Prada
Pairing: Andy/Emily
Probably on the angsty side. Events play out as in the movie, with an Andily twist, so not only does Andy go to Paris, which Emily had wanted, but she and Emily were attracted to each other. In this version Andy's primary motivation for finally making her job work is to impress Emily, but it backfires because Emily becomes jealous of her professional success and that drives them apart. When Andy leaves Miranda, it opens the door for a real relationship between Andy and Emily, but it will take some luck to make things work.
Devil Wears Prada/Gilmore Girls x over
Pairing: Andy Sachs/Rory Gilmore
Two years after she left Runway for the world of journalism, Andy finds herself reporting on the state of student journalism. This puts her in New Haven interviewing staff members from the Yale Daily News where she meets Rory. Sparks fly.
Star Wars
Pairing: Leia Organa/Mara Jade
Pre-Battle of Yavin, probably set on Coruscant when Mara was getting her training and Leia had just become a senator. They meet at a ball where Mara has been assigned to infiltrate the gathering by Palpatine, as part of her training as Emperor's Hand. Obvious conflicts include Mara's loyalties, can she keep any secrets from Palpatine? What does this mean in a larger context? How do events play out in the Rebellion with Leia and Mara involved?
Veronica Mars
Pairing: Veronica/Mac: No specific plot points. I just noticed that they are incredibly cute together in the episode where they track down the radio station.
Anne of Green Gables
Pairing: Anne/Diana
Again no specific plot points, although the raspberry cordial incident provides a good opportunity for drunken confessions.
Weeds
Pairing: Nancy/Cecilia
I just think it could be interesting if Nancy hadn't shrugged Cecilia's proposition off and they had gotten involved, and that would provide a lot possibilities for conflict over parenting and Nancy's career as a dealer.
Buffy/Star Wars xover
Pairing: Willow Rosenberg/Mara Jade
A potentially interesting pairing. Willow ends up in the SW universe as a consequence of the slayer spell going haywire and can't get back. . .
Buffy/Ender's Game xover
Pairing: Willow Rosenberg/Valentine Wiggin
This one popped into my head tonight, two teenage geniuses who find each other on the web. When Willow combines magic and hacking it lets her access the internet in more than one world although she doesn't initially realize this. Valentine accidentally exposes the existence of this other world to Peter who decides to conquer it as well, so Valentine and Willow have to work together to keep that from happening. Feel free to ignore later events in the series and the retcon stuff with Bean.
