(no subject)
It’s 80 degrees in here. I don’t like 80 degrees. Here’s why it’s 80 degrees…day before yesterday, our furnace/central air unit went poof…& by poof, I mean, died with a thud & proceeded to blow stinky fried furnace fumes throughout the entire place. Zoe & I holed up in my car until the maintenance guy came & said it was safe to come back in. Anyway, they’re replacing it today…since 9:30 this morning actually. It’s 2:33 now. Kinda kills the whole day cause you have to be around in case they need something or whatever…BUT, at least it happened now & not in the middle of winter. We had to go without air yesterday & today, but luckily it hasn’t been hideously hot & humid like last week…that would’ve been bad. So, it could’ve been worse.
Ahhhh, such an eventful & hectic couple of weeks it’s been since we moved. I just haven’t had the time to update. We’ve been unpacked for a while now. We just have to finish the decorating & organizing, which is the fun part. We bought a used washer & dryer set over last weekend (I love craigslist), but after that & paying to have it installed (gas dryer…didn’t want to piss with it), we’re so poor it’s frightening. At least there'll be no more trips to the laundromat, YAY! This move has cost so much money. I can’t even think about it…it makes me lightheaded. We're going to have to put off the trip to IKEA for a bit.
On top of everything else, Zoe has been a handful! We’ve had to start babyproofing! She’s crawling around like crazy. It’s unbelievable. She’s trying to climb everything already & has started pulling herself up to a standing position on anything she can get a good grip on. We need to get some baby gates SOON. If you hold onto her hands, she even tries to walk. It's very uncoordinated & wobbly for now, but she's trying so hard! For now, if I want to get anything done, she has to be confined to her pack’n’play or her Jumparoo for a while.
She doesn’t deal well with the heat either poor thing…
I can't believe she's almost 8 months old. She has such a determined personality. Most of the time these days, she can't be bothered with hugs & kisses or just sitting on mommy or daddy's lap. She's too busy with her training. She even gets upset with herself if she gets sleepy because, damn it, she has things to do! Bruce always says how she reminds him of someone else he knows... :)
Oh yeah...I lost 3 pounds! Not stellar, but it's something.
