Well, I have now been in the US for 2 weeks and 2 days and have been living with my host family for 1 week and 5 1/2 days. Things are starting to become familiar. I know where the kid's school is, where the daycare is, where their club is, where the Starbucks is, where the nearest drug store is, where the McDonalds is, and so on. I filled the ( Read more... )

Yay!!! I'm always excited when I realize you have posted!!! Wowser 7:00 every morning. I know how that feels. I had to be up at 7:00 too when I was up North. At least you do have time off. Hmmmm what to do?!?! Just walk around the city, see what they have there. Check the internet for stuff to do in the city. And, I'm not sure if you have any cash, but you could take the bus or subway or seetrain or whatever it is that they have there. Just remember, at least you're not stuck on an island with noone my age, no internet at all, and absolutely no possibility of doing anything except watching tv or sleeping during any free time that I happened to have ( ... )

Argh, I know what it's like to have free time and be in a city you don't know. I thought that that would be the case when I'm in Toronto but tis not to be... Instead I'm going to be running around like crazy.

Alex's suggestions for the weekend when you're in a new city:
-Go to the library or a bookstore and get something to read
-Museums! Be a tourist. :P
-Sleep
-If you're close to downtown and it's anything like Toronto, go there and wander around for a few hours
-Take pictures to post on lj! Oh shoot I have to do that before I leave...

Yay California! Where exactly will you be going? San Fransisco would be lovely, check out the waterfront if you get a chance.

And now because some idiot decided to vacuum their room at 2 am I am going to take a nap.
