Ummmmmmmmm

Well, I have now been in the US for 2 weeks and 2 days and have been living with my host family for 1 week and 5 1/2 days. Things are starting to become familiar. I know where the kid's school is, where the daycare is, where their club is, where the Starbucks is, where the nearest drug store is, where the McDonalds is, and so on. I filled the car up with gas for the first time (that is, with this car -- I have done it before!) today and nothing blew up or anything, so that's a good sign. I have the morning routine down pat -- up at 7, set table, cut up fruit, get out cereal and milk, make lunches, pack bags, put bags by door so that nothing is left behind, make sure kids put on sunscreen and have brushed their teeth, etc. I washed some of the kid's clothes last night and they came out of the wash the same colour that they were when they went in. So, in all, life is becoming normal. I even know what to pour down the toilet when it gets plugged, which is practically a daily occurrence. Yikes! I have played and lost sooooo many games of "Spit" that I can deal out the game in my sleep and I am the new family "Hearts" champ. Yes, live is good, life is grand. . .But I miss my mommy. *sob* And I have no idea how to register for classes. So, really, my stress level is quite high. I'm always tired, which is probably due to the weather (which has finally actually cooled down to a bearable level), my diet (meaning what I'm eating not a "let's lose weight" diet), and the fact that I get up at 6:54 am five days a week.

But, in other news, I'm going to California!!!! Yes!!!! And I don't even have to pay for my flight. Rock on. Also, this upcoming weekend is my weekend off, so I don't have to do any child related duties from Friday night at 9:30 pm till Monday morning at 7am. Awesome. Now if only I had something to do during that time. . .

Anyway, hope you enjoy reading about my life. Have a good week everyone :D
