Interviewed by Sophie.
1. What's the best holiday you ever had?
I think my best holiday ever was St. Maxime, in the South of France. Not sure how long ago it was, maybe 5 years? It's not the most visually stunning or exciting place I've ever been, but it has that kind of French charm that I absolutely love. It's a large-ish town on the coast, and I spent a week there with my parents and my brother, just chilling out. I think I look back on it now with such affection because it reminds me that we were happy, the four of us. I went fishing with my Dad, and we got fresh bread for breakfast every morning. It's a nice memory.
2. If you could transform into any animal, Animorphs stylee, what would it be, and why?
I like the freedom associated with a bird, but it would be too solitary I think. I'm gonna go with a horse, a wild one. You've got freedom, speed, beauty, but also family.
3. Which historical period would you most like to live in?
It's so easy to romanticise any historical period. It would be amazing to live in certain eras (I do love the 16th century) but unless you're rich and successful, and a man, they'd probably suck. So I'm going to be boring and say that I'll stick to the here and now, thankyou.
4. What's the greatest love story of all time?
My God this is hard. Well of course there are the classics, P&P, Jane Eyre, Romeo and Juliet etc. What gets me with those is that you never see their lives together, after they find each other and live happily ever after (not in the case of R&J of course). I think a great love story has to have an element of the tragic. Luthien and Beren definitley get a shout out. I can't decide! But notice how I don't go for any real life love stories. That really is tragic. One of my favourite love stories is Like Water For Chocolate. If you haven't read it, do. I didn't really answer the question did I? Well, it's mushy, but maybe the greatest love story of all time is still to come, is mine.
5. Which are cooler, vampires or werewolves?
Vampires! No question. Interview with the Vmpire is amazing, and I love the whole seduction thing, wanting something that is so evil. Vampires just seem to have scary insight into human nature. And werewolves are definitely not sexy.
That was tough!
