Ready to celebrate a Very Immoble Christmas
What a day.
The commute to work is 25 minutes, but the return trip is (would have been) 75 minutes. Busy day; almost forgot to take lunch. Turns out I live pretty near ___ and thus near plenty of good food. Picked up some 101 Noodle Express after work.
On the way home, my car missed a gear and started coasting while in the leftmost lane of the freeway. Fortunately, the whims of traffic let me make it to the right shoulder before coming to a complete halt. Car restarted fine and drove in first gear for a couple miles before dying again (I stayed in the right lane so it wasn't too big a deal). Called AAA for a tow home. Car enthusiast roommate says maybe the transmission filter is clogged?
There's a Christmas party tonight. Someone's picking me up. Tomorrow, I'm borrowing a roommate's car. If something goes wrong, I'll know I'm cursed. I hope an auto shop is open tomorrow or Thursday. Maybe I can get a ride to the family's Christmas parties on Christmas Eve and Day. I hope I don't have to get the transmission replaced or rebuilt. I simply don't have the money for it now and won't for a few months at least.
