New Babies and a passing

So, I posted a few weeks ago about two new guys that were coming to join my mischief. Ticker, a black English/Irish (perfect heart on his chest), and Splash, a mink veriberk (?) with a kink in his tail. Well, they're here now, making themselves to home, and ruling the roost. We did QT, and have started intro's which are going swimmingly.

The timing could not have been better. My first rat, my heart, Mr. Feet died last Tuesday, just one month short of his third birthday. In my arms. He was having difficulty breathing. The antibiotics had stopped helping, as had the mucinex and the albuterol. Hubby thinks he might have had a tumor in his belly that was pressing on his lungs because he ballooned up real fast the last few days. Anyway, he was lying on my chest, bruxing between gasps, he strained up, gave me a couple of kisses on my lower lip, laid down again and was gone. I don't think I could have asked for a quieter passing for him. He got to meet the new guys, and loved them too. They all cuddled together one afternoon. Feet was cold and the babies took the care that was needed with a geriatric rat, and cuddled him till he was warm. I could not believe how sweet it was.

So, here they are, my new lights:

Ticker

Splash
