Uber Driver Stories #1
I'll just list off a few here for now. I've heard many. But here are my top three I can remember now.
Sometime in 2018.
I was requesting a ride on a Saturday night around 2am, long night of video games and chilling with some furries. So I get in the guy's car, looks about late 30's, and so begins a car ride for me to get home. So as per most people, we just start talking about the weather, or something. Kind of hard to recall how it got to a left turn to crazytown. I think I was asking him what it's like driving late at night.
So he's talking about seeing wrong way drivers on the highway late into the night, seeing drunk people wandering around, standard stuff like that. And somehow he gets into telling me how about 12 years ago he went drunk driving and ended up crashed in a baseball field with a chain-link fence wrapped on the hood of his car. I don't remember if I got quiet or something but he said he turned his life around after that.
And the dude was totally sober. He was also driving for Uber, not sure where the bar was back in 2018 for driving for Uber. But he there he was giving me a ride.

I requested a ride around 9pm on a Saturday night after a nice time with my then boyfriend. The driver arrived and I got on. She was probably around her early 40's. I think it was Pride month because somehow we get into talking about how her son had come out to her and I was like, yeah that's awesome! I then told her about my coming out story and how well that went for me.
I just had to congratulate her on how she accepted her son and how that would really help him along the road of life. We both conversed and had a great time I think she probably learned a lot from me as this was a bit new to her. Hopefully they're both doing great today, just a super positive person and awesome mom on her way.
A few weeks ago.
I was requesting a ride to work, because I'm lazy as shit lol. So this nice Mercedes-Benz pulls up. I get in and the dude has a bit of a Mandarin accent to his English, looked about early 30's, probably East Asian descent. I forget how it gets to us talking about money, but I'm totally into it. He says how he does Uber to supplement his stocks on Robinhood.
He also tells me that when he's not working Uber, he's playing poker. Apparently this dude did pretty well at his game because he had some spectacular dragon tattoos on his arms and dressed well. I base this as he carried himself so well. Cool guy.

I don't remember much about the ride, was probably coming home from an afterparty. We were flying down IH-10 and there just happened to be an old Ford F-150 flipped over just randomly on the highway, so the driver dodged the shit out of that situation. I'm guessing it had just happened or something. If I remember right, the driver took the liberty of calling 911 to report it, just in case.
Again, this was late at night, probably 1 or 2am. So I can't rule out a drunk driving incident.
