So I got a job flipping burgers. Or at least I hoped it would get that far. I started out the first day by doing computer course bullshit, pretty standard fare, and the manager opened up a lot of fucking tabs on the browser for what I should go over. So I started reading and taking quizzes on the first tab, which was one of twelve. So three hours of only getting to the third tab, I get called out for being slow.
Then I went to learn to make fries, and it went crappy. I dropped fries by accidentally ripping the bag when putting them into a dispenser. Then I slowed the whole line down by struggling to the fries into a stupid ass basket that is basically two medium fry boxes. That's the dumbest shit ever and it sells, inb4 the dumb shit pizza hut does. Anyway, after not eating since 9AM I'm there from 2pm to 7pm.
It wasn't what I applied for since I wanted to do cashier or order taking. I wasn't even all there since being without food makes me a really thoughtless person. Anyway, next day they try me on cashier and order taking. So I do a few orders good, since I did go over the topic well in the "training". I screwed up two orders out of, like, several since there were many, unfortunately.
And I did take one guy's order correctly after the ones I screwed up. But he got to the drive-through window and then said his order was wrong after I verfied it at the speaker-box and window. He gladly paid, no complaints until he got to the pickup window.
Asshole of a customer: WhErE aRe My lArGe FrIeS¿
management: where are his large fries
me: he never ordered any
management: well he says he did
me: he didn't, and i verified the order at the speaker and window. he ordered what he did, nothing more.
management: *yells out to the fry guy to get a large fries* well, this is far beyond your third strike. look we got a well oiled machine here, I guess your experience just isn't gonna work here. I'm sorry, but you'll have to try elsewhere. We just can't take time to accomadate, you gotta be fast. They don't call it fast food for nothing.
I gotta understand, yeah, this was one of the best burger joints in town. I was understanding and didn't really hold it against them, but holy shit their training needs retooling. Fuck it, the job search continues.
