the new holiday
I have decided that the 3rd Friday in September should be a holiday. But what do we celebrate? There's already ridiculous fake holidays for everything -- hell, there was a "Punctuation Day" that just passed. So why not just celebrate everything awesome about life, all in one day? Let's call it Awesome Day!
On Awesome Day, all people everywhere are expected to be Awesome. You get to be awesomely productive at work and then your boss lets you go early -- awesome! Then you go drive to the bars and hit all the green lights cuz they were programmed to JUST THAT AWESOME. Then you go out and just a random awesome thing, whether it's build a homeless guy a shelter or paint an awesome mural, or just do something you've always wanted to do but never managed -- like a triple somersault or something. It would take some training, but hey -- you had a year of lead time. You knew Awesome Day was coming, dammit!
So how do I get my fake holiday off the ground? I know that goofy "Pi Day" thing got going online somehow, so who do I contact about making that happen for Awesome Day?
