Genre: Magical Realism. (not fantastic enough to be fantasy, not sciencey enough to be SF, and not boring enough to be litfic.)

Awesome Count: Not as high as the bookpeople one, but pretty damn high, given that the climax was a billion times awesomer than I expected.
Meanness-to-Characters Factor: Low at the beginning, but climbing steadily higher as the book progresses. Peaks just around climax.
Meanness-to-Author Factor: 6/10 Masochism, 5/10 Satisfaction. I liked it when I first started, but in the last couple months I was hovering between "I'M NOT STOPPING" and "oh god why am I writing this?"
