I don't know what it is, but when I go home, my body decides that since I'm home, I can feel exactly how exhausted I am, and I feel more dragged out than I do, even if I am getting more average sleep! It's frustrating.
This weekend was good. I got to hang out with Esther and Hannah, work UIL, go to church, and get some new long sleeve shirts (which I really needed). I also got to see my grandparents, and have some real (aka not dorm room or slightly soggy Chick-Fil-A) food.
UIL was great. I ended up guiding two bands, Irving and Grand Prairie. They both did wonderfully, and were wonderful to lead. It was a great day, if tiring. I ended up on my feet more than I usually am on Saturdays, even with standing all game normally. I wouldn't have traded it for any thing else. I wish I could go back for DMI. That was always my favourite contest to work- going up to DHS at 8 in the morning, putting up the signs, meeting all the bands from the far(ther) away places, and just the feeling of excitement in the air, besides the fact that it is always loads of fun to help my dad. But, as it the thing that ruins so many of my weekends, I have a game. It's just not fair. I have that next week off (then only three more weeks until the end of the season, hallelujah), but I would have to have a game it's probably a night game. If it was a early game (like bloody Homecoming next week. 6-flippin-30 in the morning!) I might be able to hitch a ride back, and see the Duncanville exhibition, and maybe even the later finals bands, but of course the time isn't even up on the schedule yet, and it'll probably be a 6 pm game, just to spite me.
Homecoming is next weekend (see the above comment about times). I have to get up at 5, which will just make my roommate love me so much, since I already get up at 6:30 on weekdays to be ready for my 8 am classes. It's a crazy life I lead. The game is at 11:30, meaning it'll be over with around 3? 3:30? ish, which means that if I changed and left from the stadium, I might make it to Huntsville in time for the SHSU contest finals. But, of course, all this would depend on me having a car. Which I don't. So the above discussion is rather meaningless. Unless Amanda is going back right after the game, which I highly doubt.
This next week is interesting, to say the least. Some of my friends have had their classes cancelled on Friday, because of Homecoming. I wish my classes would be cancelled. But, as of yet, no such luck.
I cleaned my room up after I got back. I figured that since I had all the stuff I took with me to wash at home to put up, I might as well put all the junk that was out away too. Then I got to put up all my fall/Halloween accessories and decorations- my pretty orange and purple lights, my leaf garland, and my pumpkin light. Call me silly, but I love the homey way that it makes my room feel. I brought some more of the posters and pictures from my room at home. My room is feeling more and more like home, and I like that.
I bought the first fun thing with my card today- Cleolinda Jones'
THE ANNOTATED MOVIES IN FIFTEEN MINUTES1
1 Wizards
(yes, I copy/pasted the title from her LJ. I couldn't remember the exact title, and it was easier to do that (please don't be mad!))It's hilarious. I've laughed out loud more than I have in a while, and my roommate still thinks I'm crazy.
Well, it's getting close to midnight, and I need to get this posted before then. (Call me a little OCD. I have to have an entry timestamped for every day.)
