stuff over the last long weekend.

oh... busy last few weeks... & I'm way too lazy to bother updating this as often as I probably should. Though, being a guy, I really don't think many people would think I keep a journal of sorts around. but it's supposed to be good for me, to keep things sane, to write stuff out or I'd bust a gut, since I don't normally talk about this crap to people anyway. Such is life I guess.

I'll skip over the corn maize & last months Critical mass bike ride, even though a couple people got naked for that bike ride. lol. ya, both guys & girls. too funny. The corn maize was just a maze cut through a field of corn, we did it at night, so was pitch black at times. fun.

Last weekend was Thanksgiving weekend (in Canada), so there were lots of people with dinner parties & like a crazy man, I went to a bunch of them. Well, can't be rude you know.... ;P

So Friday night started off with not so much a dinner party as an house party, Jay held a Guinness & Fries night... so he bought yam fries & 2 types of regular fries. Haha, so was a fun night, eating fries & drinking Guinness. I'd never really tried it before because it's a dark beer but I must say, was very good. I've had a few friends try to get me to drink some before but I always declined, sticking with my pale ales, but now that I'm more open to change, this was good.

Group shot of everyone

& the reason we were all there

Saturday morning had me making a Pumpkin Cheese Cake for Sunday night & it seemed to work out ok... though I ended up calling it a Thundering Pumpkin Cheese cake since the damn thing ended up with cracks all over it. I think I cooled it down too fast? or over baked it. i don't know. hehe. But Saturday night was dinner at Stan & Hedy's place, more of a welcome home party for Krystal then a Thanksgiving party. She was back for the Thanksgiving weekend from Edmonton & Law school & so we were filling her up on her favourite foods since apparently Edmonton has a very small Asian population & their food's are not very good out there. haha, so I brought over a tray of Sushi, there was chinese food too & Stan made this pasta with sun dried tomatoes. Very good, about 12 people showed up, good size crowd, lots of food & good conversation. Ended up playing Risk after most of the people had left, so semi late night, 2am & then I had to call it quits, so tired & had to wake up early the next day.

Sunday morning at 8:30am, headed out to Amy's place to go to Harrison Hot springs to see the exhibit of the World Championship of Sand Sculpture competition. Was really cool, some amazing stuff considering it's just sand. A bit of a drive out there, one & a half hours, just outside of Chilliwack, but it's a good short day trip. Pretty much once you see that stuff, there wasn't much else to do there... except go take a dip in the local community hot springs. lol, was fun, we stayed maybe 45 minutes... the water is so warm... amazing & it didn't feel like chlorine in the pools since the water is circulated in the pool from the springs, every 40 minutes it's new water... or so the walls said. We figure next time we do it, we'll look for some of the local pools where they don't have entrance fees to them.

some snaps I took of the sculptures...

& this one that was entertaining to photograph, James playing with a nipple...

Waiting for Amy to finish taking her photo's. Me, Eunice, Jamie & Jay.

Then I needed to head home, drop off the girls & get my Pumpkin Cheese cake & bring it to the parents house for Thanksgiving. All the local family was there & Lisa, my cousin just confirmed that she's moving to Toronto next year, for a fresh start, whatever that means. She's the pastry chef so, I'll miss her baking, tats for sure. lol. er, ya, her too.

Monday was a lazy day for the first part, though had to bake another Pumpkin Cheese Cake for that night. I told Jamie I'd bring a Cheese cake, pasta salad & Cold Melon Soup. SO I had to make those in the day time, then off to her place by 5:30. Man, I don't think I've ever eaten nearly so much in the last 4 days as I have this weekend... turkey... roasts.... ham.... pasta's.... stuffing.... yams.... it was crazy. & I think I really need to hit the gym this week, in a huge way. haha, but not sure when I'll have time, tonight I'm busy so will be Thursday more then likely.
