I'm finally caught up on Supernatural. It took me until an hour before the new episode last night to get there but, by the grace of God, I managed somehow.

I love the introduction of angelic characters (except for Anna, who sucks). I think it came at a great time in the storyline, and I love how they're not the typical puppies-and-rainbows variety. They don't go out of their way to save people and they don't have all the answers. That was a very smart move on the part of the writers. It leaves a lot of room for development, and I love that Castiel's already having doubts and questioning his orders and where they're coming from. It'll be very interesting to see where he goes from here.

To summarize: Castiel for the motherfuckin' win. Since Sammy's going dark side -- which breaks my heart -- and making mistake after stupid mistake, Castiel could trump him as my favorite character. In fact, I've already made a role play journal for him at vesseling. How sad is that?

As for Dean... poor Dean. ;A;

So far, I'm enjoying season 4 a lot, but I do have one big, glaring issue with it...

Why do we not have competent, cool female characters? And do they all have to throw themselves at Sam or Dean within minutes of meeting them? Seriously, there's Ruby, Jamie, Cara, Anna and Pamela, who made passes at Sam constantly. I don't mind a little romance or a good sex scene, but it's overkill at this point, and all of the girls are grating. There's nothing likable about any of them. New!Ruby sucks ass, Anna's a total Mary Sue and Pamela had a donkey laugh and wasn't a great actress to begin with. I know it's hard to insinuate female leads into an all-male cast, but the show's had really good secondary characters in the past.

Despite all that, I'm looking forward to how everything plays out. I have a feeling this season's finale is gonna be a doozy.

Spring Break next month. Finally.
