Dear Shane,
Don't be worried about alienating people. You give yourself far too little credit. Nothing you say is dumb, nor any issues you may have are dumb or angsty or trivial. We (of course, Rachel and I, as I did share a little bit of your post with her) appreciate and love you, not just little bits and pieces, but Shane as a whole. Don't be afraid of it.

"- I don't know who to turn to with some of my deeper problems with myself. There are a few people at home I would feel comfortable with, but I'm not as certain in Michigan, and I'm afraid of alienating people, assuming how I perceive myself (annoying at times) is at all accurate.
- Uncertainty. Why shouldn't I trust my friends? This just makes me feel worse about posting dumb and angsty things here. On some level this is definitely still a social problem for me."

The people who really love you will embrace you for who you have been made to be.
Nothing you say or write can be considered dumb if it is how you are truly feeling. You can be honest with us. We all have some junk in the trunk. It's about time we bust it out, because it hurts too much to keep it all in. Talking about your deeper issues is a good thing, an essential thing. Just know there are people who love you that are willing to listen, and we congregate around midnight...

I agree with Hil. Don't worry about alienating people. Won't happen.
