All right, so it's practically the middle of the night, but I finally have a handle on some things. I've shaved (a thing I've been without for the past few days), cleaned my room to a substantial level, practiced piano about two hours--which is satisfactory, had some "me" time at home and on the computer, and spent the day with my three best friends. What could possibly be better?
As Lucas said, it's now "Christmas Eve Eve Eve", so I better be making the best of it. I have another seventeen days of winter vacation and I am going to turn myself around during these days. I will become a more dedicated pianist, a more responsible and prompt person, and try and break some lame habits I should have never gotten into.
I've gotten into a lot of good music lately, or at least have reacquainted myself with it. Some include: Streetlight Manifesto, The Click Five, Trans-Siberian Orchestra, Rockapella, and a bunch of old songs I used to love by Whitney Housten, System Of A Down, My Chemical Romance, Mannheim Steamroller, and more. I will hopefully be able to put this playlist on my iPod tomorrow, and it will be retro.
I can't believe how amazing Mayumi is on piano. She does everything so perfect. Her "Ballade in G Minor" is flawless; it's practically better than the professionals, and she's only fifteen years old. Her and her sister Reiko are absolutely fantastic, you can even see it on
their website. They have great things happening with them in the future, that's for sure.
And then Vera has it going on too! I Googled her name and it came up with
this article about her competitions and whatnot. I am still blown away; she is amazing. I really want to get to their level, but it's so difficult with all these distractions.
Being lazy is one of them. I don't try to be lazy, it just happens. I have so much laundry to do, my room isn't that clean, and I never can wake up on time or get proper sleep, that's why yesterday after finals I had a five-hour on-and-off nap, and then slept for ten hours overnight. Not only that, but I just agreed to do Aida for Heritage. Thankfully that musical will be really easy, but the performances are in 1 ½ months, which is crazy.
Apart from that, I have Spelling Bee, which is a bit of a challenge, and after those two are done, I'm doing Beauty and the Beast, showing in early-March. Right after that will be the Disneyland trip, and then England in June. Right after that will be the (possible) Power & Light tour, and then Piano Camp 2007 at UOP. Man, this upcoming year will be amazing.
More thoughts to come. Thank the Lord I have a vacation right now and I can organize all my thoughts. And tonight at the play with Derek and Lucas I ended up taking like, a hundred and seventy-five pictures throughout the whole evening. How awesome is that? I haven't lost my picture-taking ability; yay. I'm off to bed now, only to wake up very soon for a rehearsal and then piano lesson, but it'll be great. More later.
