December The 1st / Gig At Will's Place

Dec 01, 2006 23:38

Good evening, folks!

December is now here; it’s the last month of the year of 2006. Will you make the best out of it? I sure know I will. With just over two weeks of school left in this semester, times are ticking down to finals, musical winter concerts, and of course Christmas Day. This will be a fun holiday time, that’s for sure.

Although today was highly stressful, I’d say it went fairly well. In A Cappella we had a tutti rehearsal of our concert pieces which sounded great; we did a lab in physics and finished up some work problems; in AP Spanish we did an essay prompt and some other “AP-ness” (ha… ha) stuff; lastly, in history we finished our time lines, took a short quiz, and then started on a new project.

I had nothing to do immediately after school, so I hung around the choir room until about four o’clock and had my first meal of the day at Willy’s that afternoon. I didn’t have time for breakfast this morning, no time for lunch on account of schoolwork, so that Willy’s was sure a blessing: an “everything” bagel, a mini bagel, a cinnamon twist, and a Dr. Pepper. It was quite satisfying, if you ask me.

Once at home I used the computer to email Vince and David in reference to the gig tonight. I practiced the pieces for that event for about forty-five minutes, and then headed over to Resurrection Church to briefly take some pictures of their madrigal dinner thing. Right after that I went straight to Will’s house to set up for the gig.

Needless to say, everything went perfectly, and they loved us. Apart from not so much ‘working’, but doing what I love to do (which is playing the piano), getting compliments galore, free food, and a comfortable and enjoyable playing environment, the pay was excellent. I didn’t even need to bring my keyboard because they have a white grand piano.

Now then, I must head off to bed because I had my mock AP Spanish test tomorrow starting promptly at eight-thirty. It’ll be a doosie, but what better way to prepare for the actual exam than to do a practice test. Tomorrow will be hectic, but we’ll see if I can take it. Have a great night, y’all.

~Chris
