Chamber Mini-Retreat & Tiffany's Party

Aug 19, 2006 22:40

Today was pretty much awesome because of CHAMBER SINGERS...!

This morning from nine o'clock-ish to four o'clock we had the second day of our "mini-retreat". We had a run-thru of the songs at first, then sectionals for about an hour and a half. Although this one definitely had the most drama inflicted, I still think we made some progress up in that hot, small, and cramped room in Stuey's house.

Once we all met together again a little before noon, we played another game of "Concentration". Derrick and me pretty much suck at that game, but we're definitely getting better. The pizza arrived from Aladino's shortly thereafter, and a game of "Charades" commenced. Thanks to Chris Layen our team (The Three-Eyed Kung Foo Monkeys or something...) lost by a long-shot, but hey, it's just a game.

We had a tutti rehearsal around two o'clock, and once that was finished we all jumped in the pool and had some "bondage" time. Things wrapped up around four o'clock and I headed back home from Mrs. Stuart's house in Bryon. kiba_lover53, helenoftroy74, and 0ultrarelax0 paid me a visit and stuck around for a few hours and consumed tons of water (lol). After that, I practiced some more and got ready for Tiffany's 17th birthday party at Roller Haven!

Upon doing the 10-mile drive up to the skating rink in Antioch, I discovered that Lone Tree turns right into A St. That certainly helps my directions for future reference. I remember going to Roller Haven back in the 6th grade, on February 14, 2002 (V-day); good times, for sure.

The attendees of the evening were as following:
  1. Tiffany
  2. Illa-ann
  3. Bigsy (Michelle)
  4. Tiffany's friend, (whose name I seem to have forgotten...)
  5. Tanya
  6. Eva
  7. Courtney
  8. Chris England
  9. Austin
We ate cake and pizza, saw Illa-ann scramble to get as many tickets as possible in that vacuum-chamber thing, skated a ton, played with all the noise-makers (kazoos, red-lipped-fanny-things, "werrrrrt" sticks, harmonicas), and did many three-person tricks (with Illa-ann and Chris England). It was definitely a great party, as uncomfortable as those in-lines were.

Everyone in that pack besides Tiffany's friend are all members of Liberty's A Cappella and/or Chamber Singers--that is insanely cool, good stuff I say. Tonight I just get to "chillax" and go to bed whenever I want, for tomorrow has nothing on the agenda. I've a 6-item "to do list" to complete, however, so I must attend to that when convenient. Take care, everyone.

~Chris
