I just got back from Disneyland; the whole trip was an absolute blast! We went to numerous clinics and workshops, performed, and got to sit in on CSU Long Beach's jazz band rehearsal. While at Disneyland, we also went to the "Magic Music Days" workshop and recorded some music from "Dinosaur", "Peter Pan", and the "Sorcerer's Apprentice". It was wicked.
The hotel was great: we stayed at the EMBASSY SUITES. It was ten stories and had a complete indoor habitat complete with gazebos, a dance floor, fountains and waterfalls, plus a few hotel restaurants. Everyone in my room [Derek, Lucas, Tiler, Marcus, and Matt] checked out the pool, and Lucas and I ran on the treadmill, 'cuz we're cool like that.
The actual Disneyland park (and California Adventure) were so exciting. We hit up the Indiana Jones and Jungle rides, Haunted Mansion, Thunder Mountain, Splash Mountain, Space Mountain, Grizzly Rapids (?) [x3], California Screamin' [x3], Malibu Drop (?), Tower of Terror [x2], Innovations, the Matterhorn [x2], Teacups, and even "It's A Small World"--the fruitiest ride ever...!
I forgot to mention, we won 1st place for the symphonic band! "Watchman, Tell Us Of The Night" sounded absolutely amazing and we got a humongous trophie. We also won "Best Overall Band", and Lucas won "Best Solo"--which means the best solo in the entire competition (10-15 schools). Go Lucas! Overall, the trip was incredibly fun and worth it. Apart from sleep deprivation, a huge plus is that I took near a grand of pictures, most of which turned out fantastic. I'll be catching up with everyone later, take care!
