Tonight, as a preparation for the start of the second semester, I made title pages for two of my toughest classes-chemistry and algebra 2. On those title pages I wanted to make some kind of a reference to a “clean slate”, as in, “the past is done with, the future is upon us.” They were plain, of course, but had subtle meanings.
On them I decided to put a few quotes. They were:
“In the absences of a decent time machine, fiction remains the most sturdy vehicle for visiting other eras.” - Tom Nolan
“Life is what happens to you while you're busy making other plans.” - John Lennon
I found both of these quotes to be especially interesting, and truthful to what their point is. Hopefully as I guide myself through the toughest portion of tenth grade, they will serve as a ground zero, for when I really don’t want to keep trying.
