The time between four and five o'clock in the afternoon goes by so freaking fast on a school day. I usually come home, get situated/have a snack, something around that nature from 3:30 - 4:00 PM if I go home right after school. Then, from 4 -5 PM, it seems like within the blink of an eye it's nearing dinner time.
What do I do during that mystical hour, hmm? I think it's a mixture between a few things: I'm wanting my life to move on from school to the evening, and that awkward time in between seems to be very strange if not flying by like crazy. (Rehearsals where I'm at school during this hour don't count; they tend to go by fast anyway, though.)
Lately, it's been me just giving into one of the several addictions I have: LiveJournal. Although, it may just be the computer and/or Internet in general. I just love checking on my post/receiving comments that have been posted during the school day or the previous night (as shallow as that sounds...), and reading fresh, new posts on
ljsecret.
It's pathetic, I know; users submitting their sappy "deepest, darkest secrets" so that other people can read them and throw back insults at them. (That was a mere exaggeration... really, it's not that delusional.) But really there's so much to do in that community. I've collected some data and found out that when there's a really popular post, it can easily fill 6 pages of comments in one hour (sixty minutes), totaling over 200 comments. With that kind of interaction, it's almost as entertaining as
rq_version3 used to be.
I've participated in a thread that I think (for my benefit), would be worth linking for future reference. Someone was saying how "Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless Mind" was a terrible movie, and
I inquired a few things about it, thus resulting in some discussion. Maybe I will end up renting that movie.
To not let this post side track too far from "The Mystical Hour" to lj secret, I tend to use the time from four to five just listening to music and using LJ to its entirety. I love it, and when six o'clock finally comes around, it's either A) time to go somewhere, or B) dinner time time for dinner. I wonder what we'll be having tonight...?
