Last night, I wanted to listen to the new music CD I put together on the headphones for once. I at first thought I lost my headphones inside the plastic casing it came in-just to keep them in good condition and so the soft coverings won’t get torn or whatever. I was sure I had the plastic bag it was in beside my bed where I usually put them. When I noticed they weren’t there I started looking on one of top of the two dressers I have that are next to each other.
While in the middle of looking for my headphones, I noticed the lightweight box of stuff that used to store these plastic sea creatures I bought a long time ago. Now it’s just packed with miscellaneous stuff like old movie theater tickets (I sort of keep them like momentos), cool Spider-Man card stuff, and other paper things I don’t want to throw away. I don’t know why but I didn’t remember putting the folded notes I got from friends when I was in high school, way back when. So I took those out and re-read them. Four of them were from my old school friend Diana, and another from another friend I knew named Shannon. (Shannon wrote my name right while Diana wrote didn’t-not that I mind, lol.)
Shannon’s old letter to me is still amusing. I think I remember what she looks like now, as I’m writing this entry. I also remember telling her the amusing story of my first cat that was in my family’s bathroom in the log cabin we used to live in for rent. Shadow was being a curious kitty when she jumped into the shower stand. No one was using it to take a shower, so I watched her jump in there and I guess she must have noticed, jumped out, and ran out of the bathroom, haha.
I remember the silly limerick-ish poem I wrote about that! It goes…
“My cat walked in through the bathroom door,
To see what it was used for
In the shower stand,
She looked hard as she can,
Then ran, but will be back for more!”
Anyway, Shannon, in her colorful letter all in marker had asked if Shadow still did that. She also asked if I still liked Jeff (no last name). I knew it wasn’t the Jeffery from Africa who was too forward in wanting to form a relationship with me, oh, two or three years ago. It was this other Jeff, older brother of a guy named Joey that I didn’t like-because he liked to annoy me and give me a hard time, and once threw popcorn in my hair in 8th grade while everyone else in class was watching a movie. I thought Jeff was different and cooler than Joey, so I had a dumb crush on him. Turned out he was actually a jerk and not really someone to call a friend, even. I got very upset over that… Yeah, that’s growing pains for you. :P
Which is why under Shannon’s still assuming statement, “You like Jeff”, I wrote a tiny “HATE” under the word “like”. I was so mad then. I’m sure I must have told her later that I didn’t like him anymore. I just don’t really remember.
Then I read my friend Diana’s letters. We both had some of the same classes in our junior year, so she wrote me some. Four letters in all, and they were nice. I believe I wrote her back too, in between classes.
I remember Diana’s last name, and no doubt she must have Facebook. Well, it’s a possibility that she does. I still have mine because my board game meetup group home site is on that. I very rarely update my Facebook and such. But still, I’m kind of wondering if she held onto the letters I wrote her. So, sometime I may look Diana up on FB.
Well, after just quick reading through all those letters I got and still have-because they’re still very nice letters-I eventually found my headphones! I had moved them closer to where I keep some CDs. That makes more sense.
The Drakengard (PS2 game I have) music, the intro music recorded from game (with game sfx) sounded great. Epically great. And some of the other songs, like the 2 InnerPartySystem ones I like a loooot (they’re this industrial rock-like band) sounded so good. The Adam Lambert song, “For Your Entertainment” sounds very good, and oh god yes, the live recording of “Under the Bridge” by Red Hot Chili Peppers! It was like being there at the concert.
I was up until around 1:30-ish in the morning doing all that.
