I just wanted to write quickly here to thank my friends who have been so kind in showing their concern for my mother and myself. It means a lot for you all to care and check in as you have been.
For anyone confused, on Sunday evening my mother was admitted to Brigham and Women's Hospital with a large blood clot in her leg. She had thought she might have an infection and went to the ER, where the clot was found. It was incredibly frightening for us but thankfully she is a tough lady and knew to go to the ER when she felt something wasn't right. But I know I may have scared you all when I received the call from my Dad at Mel's house. I really appreciated the hugs and the concern.
She is doing much better now and is out of danger. It's possible this was caused by one of her medications or by inactivity of her legs. She will be undergoing physical therapy for a bit and possibly moved from the hospital into a rehab home to start the PT.
I have been visiting her and calling often, and I'm very relieved to see her looking and feeling better. I passed along all the well-wishes and she was grateful to hear that people are thinking of her.
