well since my folks are breeders, there were a few batches. Most of the adults have a big yard to run around and a doggy door, so they got out ok. There was the one momma and 3 puppies in the room, that probably died of smoke inhalation, and three six-week old puppies in the living room that my dad rescued. Maybe a few more, but I don't remember specifically. Their old place was a mobile home, and my dad said it was like walking into a trashfire, the smoke was so thick.

It is sad that they lost a momma dog and some puppies, but all in all it could have been MUCH worse. Most of the dogs are ok (they all needed baths, eyedrops, and hugs), no one got seriously hurt and they didn't lose much of their house. A lot of the stuff was in the detached garage, too. The cleaning company is working on the furniture and scouting stuff. Hopefully they can get the smoke smell out. My parents got all the valuables out of the house before they left and locked it also (we had an incident with some movers and a missing 3 karat necklace, so we don't trust anyone).
