Read names? I'm flattered.

I was just asked by one of my old students to come to the high school graduation and read their names.

Background: A few of my students in LA created a MySpace for me. I've only been to it a few times in the last year but I told them a few weeks ago (first time on MySpace since September) that I'd check more often. My most recent message was from a student (who is now junior class president) saying that I should go to graduation and read their names since I was their homeroom teacher. I think it's hilarious that he had a homeroom teacher before me and a new on this year and he's not graduating for another year. He said he'd ask at the next meeting and let me know. Actually, what he wrote was:

will i just got a new job at baskin robbins last week and i really like working there becaseu its really easy and t fun.

yea he aint on your level of teaching ur way above hi.. but yea that good that u moved back over there its better for u becasue i know i couldnt livewith out my famiy but it suxz for us becasue we lost a very good teacher. hopefully u can go to are graduation that would be really kool..mrs schanaider that would probably mean alot to us since u were are homeroom teacher may u should be the one who reads are names..u think u could do that??? ill mention it on are next metting and ill tell u wat they say. oh yea i wanted to ask u some questions about that online high school . do u guys have summer classes? and how does that school work? will hope to hear from u soon. it really good talkign to u

This was one of his more readable messages.

Anyway, I'm totally flattered that this kid would even think of it.
