Good news for people who like good news
I tried again (our at least third attempt) to get the sump pump exiting out the long line to the way back of our yard as opposed to the short line three feet off the side of the house -- AND IT WORKED! This long line was the cause of the problems about a month ago when it ceased to evacuate water due to freezing. Or something. But it seems to be functioning now. Hooray!! I would much rather shoot water several hundred feet behind our house than right next to the foundation to dribble in again...
