Back in 2007 I took an amazing trip to Madagascar. One day we went to a market, where everyone was incredibly friendly and we were very definitely objects of curiosity, as was my camera. I had a terrible time coming up with an idea for this one, but I finally did. I have a lot of grackles and starlings that come to my deck to eat the seeds the squirrels - who are adorable but horrendously messy - strew everywhere. I had a tough time with this one, to the point that I actually found myself wishing for another snowstorm to come along so I could take a picture of it. But since that didn't happen, have a blue jay in the snow with a few flurries falling down on him.

I was having a really hard time with this one, and then I remembered the time I Furminated Kaiya when she was blowing her undercoat and photographed the evidence. This is only one session's worth of dog hair, with my shoe beside it for scale. The pile was about 6 puffy inches high.

This is very boringly literal, but... Even at 6 months old, Kaiya knew what she liked to do best: play fetch. Tennis balls are pretty much her favorite thing ever.

I was trying to figure out what to do for this prompt, and then I realized I'm deep into rewatching Farscape, imo the best scifi show ever made and one of the best - if not the best - shows ever, regardless of genre. This is Kaiya, who'll be seven in April, then, on the day I picked her up at eight weeks old. Even then, she loved tennis balls, which are still her favorite toy. She'd play fetch 'til she dropped.
